Program is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that is fed
to dogs and cats to prevent flea eggs from maturing into adult
fleas. Moderate success has been had with this product
especially when used in conjunction with other flea control products
used inside, outside and on the pet.
We don't sell Program pills but we do sell and highly recommend Flea Fix. Now called I.G. regulator.
IG Regulator is a liquid IGR (insect growth regulator) that
you can spray onto carpets, furniture and the yard. Excellent
success has been had with this product used by itself. Below
you will find a few comparisons between IG Regulator and Program.
PROGRAM
Program is an IGR that prevents the flea eggs from
maturing into adults. For this product to work the pet has to
eat it, the flea has to bite the pet and than some (not all) of the
flea's eggs will fail to mature into adult fleas. Disadvantages
include having to feed the product to a reluctant pet, high cost (about $70/yr) and the fact that a lot of the fleas eggs escape
all contact with the IGR.
IG Regulator is an odorless, non-staining IGR that has no ill effects on nontarget animals such as birds, dogs or you. One 4 oz. bottle makes 4 gallons of spray and covers 6000 sq. ft. You can spray all carpets and furniture, dog houses, yards, etc. Each application lasts six months and costs $24.50($49.00/yr). Because you are spraying this product in such a large area it is virtually impossible for the flea eggs and larvae not to come into contact with this product. If you spray IG Regulator twice a year, inside and outside, on April Fools Day and Labor Day than you won't have any fleas in your house or your yard and you won't need any other flea control products. The key to flea control is to spray before you see the first flea (April Fool's Day). AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION IS WORTH A POUND OF CURE!
