CHIPMUNKS
Chipmunks will seldom take a poison bait. Use a small live animal trap to catch the animals and take them several miles away for release. Our prepared bait works well as an attractant for chipmunks and other rodents such as rats and squirrels.

RODENT CONTROL, NORWAY RAT TRAPS AND POISONS
Rodent control can be accomplished by the use of baits, traps and repellents. But before any of these are used it is very important to deny the rodents the essentials for life. These include harborage (a place to live and hide), food and water. Proper sanitation is the key to any type of long range pest control.
BAITS---Baits come in pellet, meal and block form. For mice we recommend Maki Pellets and for rats we recommend the Contrac Blocks. These are both strong anticoagulant products that make the rodents die from internal bleeding. Vitamin K is the antidote for accidental poisonings of pets but extreme care should be taken to keep these products away from nontarget animals. The use of Mice or Rat Bait Stations is highly recommended.
NEVER USE A BAIT INSIDE YOUR HOUSE IF YOU HAVE A CHILD LESS THAN 3 YEARS OF AGE OR A DOG. IF YOU USE THE BAIT OUTSIDE MAKE SURE YOUR DOG CANNOT GET TO IT. IF HE DOES, VITAMIN K IS THE ANTIDOTE. SEE YOUR VET!!
REPELLENTS---Electronic pest repellers will not
drive a population of mice, rats or squirrels from a building.
However, a high grade electronic repeller with sufficient speakers
placed at the proper entry locations into a building will keep
rodents from ever entering a building in the first place.
Repellents such as Bye-Bye
Birdie have been known to
drive rodents out of an enclosed space such as an attic.
TRAPS---We are all familiar with snap
traps. These work, at least until the rodents learn how to
avoid them. For mice we recommend Mouse
Glue Boards. These are cheap, safe and easy to use. Glue boards are also available for rats, but rats are large
animals and very often pull off these and get away. A better
solution for rats is to use a Chipmunk
Trap. This size of live animal trap will catch squirrels,
rats and chipmunks. The big advantages of live traps are that
the animals do not get trap shy, the trap will last for years and can
be used for several different types of rodents. If you release
the rodents unharmed remember to take them at least 5 miles from home
so they will not return.
There are also two types of live traps available for
mice. These are the Tin Cat
or the
Mouse Master. Both catch multiples of mice unharmed.
